This page covers user-facing licensing and autosave recovery behavior. ## Licensing Open **Help > Licensing** to view license status. If a license is needed or has expired, FX-PML can open the install-license dialog. The install-license dialog shows the current **Machine ID** and provides a **Copy** button. Send the **Machine ID** to the developer ([email protected]). You will receive an XML text block to paste into the form and click **OK**. The XML text will be saved to the application data folder with a `.lic` extension. A trial license is available that is not locked to the Machine ID but instead expires after a few weeks/months. ![[Images/Licensing.png]] ## Autosave Autosave is controlled from the **Settings** tab: - **AutoSave** enables or disables periodic snapshots. - **AutoSave Duration** controls the interval in seconds. Autosave does not replace normal saving. Continue to save the project file explicitly as part of normal work. Autosave is intended to allow recovery of work should the program unexpectedly shut down. ## Recovery Dialog If FX-PML detects autosaved snapshots after an unclean shutdown, it opens a recovery dialog at startup. The dialog lists original files, autosaved versions, and sizes. ![[Images/Recovery-Dialog.png]] Available actions: - **Recover Selected** opens the selected autosaved snapshot. - **Discard All** removes the autosaved recovery files. - **Skip** leaves recovery for later and continues startup. After recovering a snapshot, save it to the intended project path.
